Meditation with Moonie
Moonie is a traditional Thai massage therapist, based in Kilbirnie since 2011. Moonie is keen to help other’s master meditation and also to help to change people’s misunderstandings about the practice. “Experience has led me to realise that at the centre of health and well-being is the mind” Moonie explains. Ancient Thai massage therapy used meditation as part of the process; healing and meditation are interconnected.
However, there is a misperception of meditation: that it must be done at a scheduled time, sitting in silence, cross-legged on the floor, eyes closed. Rather, opportunities to meditate can arise anywhere and anytime, and we can learn to recognise and act on these.”I always practise meditation during treatments. I encourage others to act when they realise the chance is there.”
It can be a struggle for many people to fit practising meditation into their busy life routines. For this reason Moonie has invited her teacher to help her to lead 2 very special workshops at Geilsland. These courses will give you a sense of how meditation philosophy is applicable to each part of your daily life. You will learn more about the potential for meditation we all have within ourselves and how to acknowledge your body through meditation. Everyone can benefit from the course; it can bring you nearer your own beliefs about life. The practice workshop will develop and refine your inner awareness, focussing on both breathing and movement.
The course has been run in different countries and it has been adapted to suit individual needs. Whether you are a novice or an expert, the course is also designed to suit all levels.
