I’m Gregor, I’ve just completed my one year apprenticeship in Web Development. I started working at the Trust in 2015 teaching guitar and drum lessons in my spare time. Once I left school I began to work with the trust as an office assistant in October 2016, and then began my apprenticeship in November 2016. Working at the Beith Trust has allowed me to learn and develop new skills such as WordPress, Social media marketing and even Graphic Design. I also had to opportunity to undertake training through the Trust such as Risk Assessment and basic Health and Safety courses. I completed the qualification part of my apprenticeship in 5 months and have since then been using my time at the trust to improve on these skills, for example job-shadowing my line manager Emma Madden has helped me to improve my ability in graphic design through learning new styles and techniques.
What was a decision that changed your life?
Joining the Trust and motivating myself to improve.
What do you like best about being the age you are now?
Being able to do what I want with the money I make and also being able to drive (and buy alcohol).
What is the best part of your role/job?
I enjoy working with Emma to constantly improve the Beith Trust website and also enjoy some of the project work I get to take part in.
What other job would you like to be doing if not the one you do?
I’d love to make a career as a musician although my backup plan is to make a career in IT.
Where is your favourite place to spend the day?
With my girlfriend or hanging about with my friends.
