Lend a Hand Face to Face Befriending

platjub

Lend a hand face-to-face befriending is an all-encompassing project including our lend-an-ear telephone befriending service, our Garnock Valley Helping Hands project, and our lend-an-ear afternoon tea events that happen throughout the year. These events and projects have one unifying purpose; to lend a hand to those who need it most.

Our lend-an-ear befriending project is a telephone befriending project which aims to support lonely, isolated individuals in our community by providing one-to-one friendly phonecalls to those who need them most in order to hopefully take their minds off their troubles for a short while. Alongside this, we also provide signposting for those who may require further support and also have bi-monthly in-person meetings through our afternoon teas where our clients can meet one another and our team.

Garnock Valley Helping Hands is a similar project but focuses more on new families who are struggling to provide basic necessities to themselves and their children. This project utilises donated baby clothes, toys, and equipment that are then passed on to those who require them; free of charge. Our hope for this project is that it can provide vital support and remove the stress and stigma surrounding new families needing a helping hand.

To learn more about these projects you can visit their dedicated webpage on our website or by checking out our social media pages where we post regular updates and calls for help.
