Lend an Ear Telephone Befriending
Introducing G.V. Helping Hands: a fantastic resource for families in need across the Garnock Valley and beyond. At Beith Trust, we understand that ithe current climate, it can feel overwhelming when it comes to providing essential items for yourself and your family. At G.V. Helping Hands, we aim to make this significantly easier for those families.
Developed and supported by Beith Community Development Trust, G.V. Helping Hands accepts donations of used baby and children’s clothes, toys, and equipment; like prams, car seats, etc. and provides them to families in need of a hand locally. This project costs nothing for those who need it, and we will always ensure that the items and equipment you receive are well-kept and cared for.
Alongside our daily activities and providing referral baskets for families; each Christmas G.V. Helping Hands runs our annual Gift and Toy Drive! This project aims to provide Christmas gifts and toys to local children who are less fortunate.
From our base in the Garnock Valley we have been able to provided help to families across the entirerty Ayrshire, and to continue to offer this support we are now looking to expand our base to the Three Towns as 3.T. Helping Hands. This project operates in the same way as G.V. Helping Hands; providing essential items for local families in need and creating new opportunties for local people. If you would like to donate or volunteer with us then contact us today.

Meet other service users
If you enjoy using the Lend an Ear emotional support helpline in Ayrshire, you can also attend one of our bi-monthly afternoon teas, where you can meet befrienders and other users of the service in person – all while you indulge in cake and a good gab with like-minded people.
If you’d like to arrange a time for a chat with one of our befrienders, please complete this form. Once received, one of our befrienders, Alison, will be in touch as soon as she can to ask a little more about what you’re looking to gain from Lend an Ear. Then we can arrange some dates and times that suit and get that first conversation all scheduled.
If you feel that a counselling service with trained therapists is more akin to what you need right now – we can point in the right direction of appropriate services, in Ayrshire and across Scotland.
