Abby Law: My Social Media Prefrences
I mainly use social media to speak and keep in touch with my friends and family. I also use it to keep up to date with events and things that are happening in the world and to follow different influencers. On social media, I also like posting about what I have been doing and sharing pictures of myself with my friends. My favourite social media apps are Instagram and Snapchat as they are easy to use and I find them the easiest to talk people on.
One of my favourite influencers to follow on Instagram is Billie Eilish because she is always herself and doesn’t change because some people don’t like her, she seems like a nice person who cares for others. She posts what she wants to and doesn’t care if people judge her for what she wears or because she is different from others. I personally have had good experiences using social media and I think that it is a great way to communicate with others, share things and it allows you be creative with what you post.
For my work experience I chose to come to Beith Trust and work as a social media assistant, I chose this because I enjoy using social media and I love creating adverts and posters. I also wanted to work on my photography skills and see what it would be like to make posts and adverts for things going on in my community, I am also hoping to build my on my confidence and my advertising skills.
Through The Lens
Here are a few images taken by Abby throughout the week. She had a wonder through our Geilsland country estate & took photographs that she wanted to take. Dont you agree the photos are very well taken?
Abby enjoyed taking the photographs, she found some parts of our estate unnerving but found other parts great.
Throughout the week abby has more than 1 opportunity to work with photographs & camera equipment when she later found herself filming our REHIS course which was running throughout. Aswell as abby filming she was also starred in a little film making throughout the week.
My week: Summary
For the past week working as a Social Media Assistant, I have learned many valuable skills that will help me in life. I have improved many of my skills like my confidence, communication and writing. I was shown how you use different apps like WordPress, Hootsuite and Photoshop and I learned how to create a blog. I have learned how to create adverts and write social media posts in the best way so they will get as much attention as possible and so that they will look clean and professional. My overall use of computers has got much better as my typing speed has increased and I can type with fewer mistakes. I was taught how to set up and effectively use a professional camera and I was given the opportunity to test out my filming skills, which allowed me to bring out my more creative side. The experience overall, has definitely helped me to be more confident in myself and my work and it’s an experience I’m sure I will never forget.
