I am an Admin assistant. I mainly deal with the new database system we recently introduced. The database is for all the events that have taken place like Play scheme, Football Camp, Cookery classes and so on. There are so many events being run by Beith Trust, it is a never ending task. I also have a volunteer helping me with this on Mondays and Thursdays as there is a lot currently to be put on as it was recently introduced to replace our old system.
I also deal with the booking system we use for the Astro and Public Park and input the information to the spreadsheet we use for the Invoices. This was created so we have a clear visual of the days that teams are in and if we need to invoice them or if they have paid. This also provides a trail of bookings if the main booking on Skedda was removed accidentally.
On Wednesday I do the cooking class with my colleagues, we usually do a pot of soup and one main meal. Jen taught us the correct way to use items in the kitchen as well as teach us the theory side of it too.
What other job would you like to be doing if not the one you do?
I’ve had a few jobs in the past and honestly wasn’t too keen on them I have tried working behind a bar, shop assistant and so on. Honestly I think Beith Trust has been the best job I have had from all of them. The staff and Volunteers are great and the work load is good and busy.
What advice would you give your 13 year old self?
A lot of people say this but I believe it is true and that is stick in at school, as time went on I lost interest but felt as if I would have everything a few years later. But this wasn’t the case once I left.
What was your most memorable date?
A friends birthday we went up to Glasgow for the night rented a flat so we took full advantage of this as we didn’t need to worry about catching a train home. Safe to say I was skint after this.
