
Alison is our employability work coach/ volunteer manager. On a day to day basis Alison supports volunteers, helping with job searches, building and developing cv’s, helping fill out job/ college applications. Conducts Inductions for volunteers making them feel welcome, engaging with the community. Helps individuals get back to work, helps volunteers build self-esteem and helps them become more confident individuals within the trust. Alison also sources training opportunities and promotes the self-development of volunteers.
When we asked Alison what she enjoyed about her job, she replied: I love seeing someone start here, the transition within the first month, seeing them happy, confident and willing to work with us. It’s a buzz, seeing the transition. This place is a great meeting place it’s like a different world, the surroundings are beautiful. The people all have one another’s backs and I love to see each individuals journey, the moving on thanks to everything the trust does. Turning individuals into strong, happy, confident characters.
What other job would you like to be doing if not the one you do?
I would have loved to be an interior designer. I am also passionate about architecture and old buildings.
What advice do you wish you could give your 13-year-old self?
Not to go with the crowd. Be an individual and follow your dreams because they can be reality.
What was your most memorable date?
Most memorable dates were when my daughters are born.
