Employability
With Beith Trust
Looking to build confidence, develop new skills and take positive steps towards employment? Our free employability programme is designed to support unemployed people living in North Ayrshire in a relaxed, friendly and inclusive environment.
The programme runs various blocks across the year, but always on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Geilsland Estate in Beith and open to anyone aged 15½ and over who is currently unemployed. No qualifications or previous experience are needed — just a willingness to give it a go. We welcome parents, young people, school leavers, people with disabilities and anyone who feels they could benefit from a bit of extra support to move forward.
Course Contents Our course features, but is not limited to...
First aid & food hygiene certificates
Support with CV writing
Online courses
Interview tips & support
Group work and peer support
Hands on work experience
We understand that everyone learns differently. If you struggle with IT, reading or writing, you’ll be fully supported throughout — there’s no pressure and no judgement. The course is designed to be informal, supportive and encouraging, not classroom-based or intense.
To make taking part as easy as possible, there is no cost to attend. Lunch is provided, transport costs can be covered, and a childcare crèche is available on request. Participants also have the chance to gain hands-on work experience through Beith Trust events, including roles in customer service, event support, facilities and childcare. Those who successfully complete the programme may be offered an interview for sessional work with Beith Trust.
