Beith Trust and Geilsland Enterprise are pleased to acknowledge support from the ARIA Fund, delivered with funding from the Scottish Government, which has helped strengthen the management and oversight of our 5-acre Beith Astro facility.
Our Beith Astro site is an important community resource, providing accessible outdoor space for sport, recreation and community activities. During 2025, a total of 22,185 people used the facility, highlighting the importance of the site as a valued asset for the local community.
Maintaining a large facility requires regular monitoring and management to ensure it remains safe, secure and welcoming for all users. Thanks to support from the ARIA Fund, the team can now monitor and manage the site more effectively. CCTV improvements have enhanced the way staff oversee the facility, helping ensure the grounds and infrastructure are maintained to a high standard.
In addition, upgrades to indoor and outdoor lighting across the facility — including the changing rooms, corridors and external areas — have improved safety and accessibility for users, particularly during the darker months of the year.
The funding supports the operational management of the facility, allowing staff to carry out regular checks and respond quickly to any issues that may arise across the site.
A member of staff explained:
“I have access to security cameras on my phone, which means I can check in on user arrival and lock-up times, carry out quality controls, and inspect the grounds and facility for any issues needing highlighted to other teams.”
This improved oversight helps ensure the Beith Astro facility continues to operate safely and efficiently while supporting the many individuals, football teams, clubs and groups who use the space.
Beith Trust and Geilsland Enterprise are grateful to the ARIA Fund and the Scottish Government for supporting the ongoing development and management of this important community facility.
